Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description

A silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inch (2.86cm) in diameter overall consisting of a blue triangle displaying three green pines, charged at center with a maroon cropped cross, the base of the triangle surmounting a silver laurel wreath, the top of the laurel leaves and triangle ending at an arched maroon scroll inscribed DUCIS-EDUCARE-PARATUS in silver.



Symbolism

Maroon is a traditional color of the Army Medical Department and silver represents the tools of dentistry. The pine trees allude to the unit's home area at Ft. Liberty in North Carolina, the ''Tar Heel State.'' Their color, green, is symbolic of rejuvenation, life and health, and refers to the unit's mission. The cross is a traditional symbol of care and assistance and further denotes the DENHAC's mission and close accord with the field of medicine.

 


Background

The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the Dental Health Activity, Fort Bragg on 1 October 2016.  The distinctive unit insignia was redesignated for the Dental Health Activity, Fort Liberty on 13 October 2023.
